Downtown Clarksville TN

Downtown Clarksville
is a historic town with pretty architecture, historic churches and lots of quaint shops on Franklin Street. City Hall and Public Square sit high above the Cumberland River and offer a pretty Christmastime light display that any town can be proud of.

Speaking of  the river, there is a Riverwalk at McGregor Park that has walking trails, picnic benches, a river museum, an outdoor pavilion for concerts and a children's playground area.

Many of the annual Festivals use this park for their music events. Other art and craft festivals are on Public Square and Franklin Street. From May to October the Downtown Farmers Market is held every Saturday on Public Square.

Historic Downtown Clarksville helps spread the word about our town's 200 plus year history. Clarksville played an important role in the Civil War and even has Fort Defiance Interpretive Center to share the story. The Customs House Museum and Cultural Center is an eclectic style building that houses artifacts from the area and hosts special galleries and exhibits.
