Many people move to Tennessee to retire and this is one of the areas they may consider. Southside is located in the southern part of Montgomery County very close to the Dickson County line. It is definitely country living and that means you will find houses that have some land and even some small farms. This is a good place to find some land to build a house.
Being in the county means you will have a 20 minute drive to Riverside Dr. You will not pay any city property taxes and will not have city sewer. But you will have public utility water as very few homes in Montgomery County are on well water.
The reasons homeowners like Southside is because it is away from the hustle and bustle. You can have some farm animals or chickens and have a big garden. Neighbors are generally spread out and not too close together.
